Valentine’s Day 2009

Published by Sue under Decorating, Stamping, Valentine's Day

I needed to make a Valentine’s Day gift, but didn’t have a frame in my stash.  Here’ s the front of the canvas frame I had tucked away.

Here’s the back of the canvas, which is about 5" x 7".  Very easy to paint it black with craft paint.  I wanted to surprise my daughter and son-in-law with a personal gift for Valentine’s Day from their girls.

I covered each of the grand girl’s foot with VersaMark ink and had them step down on Ruby Red cardstock.  I embossed their footprint with silver embossing powder.

Here are the words which I printed on the computer.  I added a couple of silver hearts.  I put ModgePodge on the back side of the cardstock and centered it on the black canvas frame.  Pressed out as many air bubbles that I could.  Then I covered the entire project with one coat of ModgePodge and let it dry overnight.  It turned out quite nicely!

Dan and I had the grand girls overnight on February 13.  We took them swimming at the YMCA after supper.  We had a blast!  When they woke up on Valentine’s Day, I had gotten up early and made a heart-shaped breakfast for them.

This was so much fun to do for them.  They both squeeled with delight.

Amber went for the pancake first!

Brianna went for the toast and jelly first.

After breakfast, we read some books.  Looking at this picture, I cannot believe they are 5 years old and 20 months old.  Weren’t they just babies?

DIVA Day 2-8-09

Published by Sue under Recruiting, Stamping, Valentine's Day

I thought I would share some photo’s from the Stamping DIVA Day on Sunday with some of my downline.

The day begins with stamping.  No surprise there!  Here are Liz, Autumn, Amy and Denise.

And here is Julianne.

Here is Susie.  She is talking with her hands, not protesting me taking her picture (really).

Wanda is showing Cyndi and Peggy how to make their own decorative paper on the computer using Stampin’ Up! colors.

Amy had to leave early to go to work.  Here is her DIVA swap card.

Here is Amy showing us her DIVA creative challenge.

The only reason we stop stamping is to eat!  (L to R) Susie, Denise, Wanda, Julianne, Cyndi, Autumn, Liz, Peggy.  We start the business meeting while we are eating.

Each meeting, someone gets to wear the DIVA crown for the highest sales the previous month.  Peggy came in second place the last two months.  But in January, she pulled out all the stops and was #1!!!!  Go Peggy!

We have a DIVA card swap and the theme was to use the Love You Much Bundle in a non-Valentine card.

Sometimes my DIVA’s are my guinea pigs for projects I’m thinking of offering to my customers.  Here are some purse notebooks they made.  I did challenge them because I had a picture of a purse notebook, but no template or measurements.  They all were up to the challenge.  Here are a few samples of their creativity!

Mommy & Me Valentine Class Projects

Published by Sue under Stamping, Valentine's Day

This weekend was my Mommy & Me Valentine classes.  These were so much fun.  I just LOVE the honest look on kid’s faces when they see something they create!  The hardest thing for me with these classes was to ‘guess’ what kids from ages 4-10 years old could make.

We did add Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the butterfly.

A cute heart-shaped red sucker on a card!

My friend, Fran, from church, brought all these plastic containers and asked if anyone had a use for them.  My first thought was "no, I have enough stuff in my craft cupboards".  Then I had one of those "aha" moments.  I’ve seen projects where they decorate test tubes and fill them with candy.  So I peeled the labels off and viola…a candy holder!  Mini M&M’s, red hots and a roll of Smarties all fit very nicely in these.  This was the favorite project for everyone.  Another way to recycle too!
