My Favorite Package

Published by under My Digital Studio,Scrapbooking

My favorite package to find on my front doorstep isn't a Stampin' Up! box.  Are you gasping?  I still love getting the brown boxes from Stampin' Up!, but I LOVE getting the white pizza boxes from the Stampin' Up! authorized printer because they contain scrapbook pages made with My Digital Studio.  When these boxes get delivered, I cannot wait to open them up!  Inside are the memories of my life.

Inside my recent order was three separate packages totaling 68 12" x 12" scrapbook pages.  I won't show you all of them.  Yes, you can breathe a sigh of relief!  But I will show you some of them.

Here's Ashley this summer in her sunflower outfit, which is my daughter-in-law's favorite outfit.

Amber helping harvest zucchini from our garden.

I had to include memories of our crazy cat and Dan.

The first time Ashley watched her cousin, Brianna, get ready for school.

Amber working on and finishing a 100 piece puzzle this summer.

Ashley waking up her older cousin, Amber, and their day spent together.

I'm can't take enough pictures of Fall scenes at our cabin.

We'll never forget our bumper crop of apples this year.

The two cousins, Amber and Ashley, making apple smiles at snack time.

A special b-day dinner with my sister-in-law and her new puppy.

And, my personal favorite, is the early morning artists (8:20 a.m.) busy creating in my studio.

My scrapbook pages aren't super elaborate and certainly won't win any awards.  They are simple and usually pre-set layouts that I tweak a bit.  My scrapbook pages are about my everyday life.  The grandgirls LOVE to see themselves on the scrapbook pages.  And they love to have me read the journaling (or in their words, "the story") on each page.  My scrapbook pages are so precious to me.  They make me smile and remember that my everyday life is quite awesome and I am truly blessed!  My heart is content that I can record these memories for my children and grandchildren and for future generations.

If you want help to find the best way to preserve your family's memories, I would love to help you.  Contact me and we can chat!

Why I Scrapbook

Published by under Scrapbooking

When I was growing up, I was the fifth child out of seven.  I have no baby pictures of just me.  I have about 3 pictures of me as a baby, but I'm with a sibling.  Because of this void, when my children were born, I became a photography nut.  Yes, I'll admit it.  And I continue to love to take family pictures of our grandgirls.  Since they are with us three days a week, I love to photograph their life with Nanna & Poppy.

Our youngest grandgirl is almost 20 months old.  Guess what her favorite books are?  The scrapbooks that I have made for her.  Yay!!!

And I've been working hard this summer on getting our other two grandgirls scrapbooks done.  I just finished the last of the traditional pages for both of them.  And, I can't wait for the "pizza" box to arrive from the Stampin' Up! authorized printer with all my 12×12 pages made with My Digital Studio.  All the pictures from this summer will be here soon.  DRUM ROLL…I am caught up with their scrapbooks!  Yee-haw!!!

Scrapbooking in a Shadowbox

Published by under Decorating,Scrapbooking

One of my favorite things to do is to make projects to decorate my home with.  If the project involves family photographs, then that is a bonus!  I have been working on and off on this project for a few months.  I wanted to work on it and finish it in one day, but life gets busy.  I had tucked it away in my craft cupboards and found it last night while I was looking for something else (go figure).  I decided to finish it last night.

The shadow box is 12 1/2" x 12 1/2".  The six compartments are about 4" x 6".   I didn't adhere each little scrapbook page to the shadowbox.  I want to be able to remove these some day and give them to each grandgirl to frame.  The supplies used to make this shadowbox are from Stampin' Up!, except for the Scrabble pieces.  (Note:  The key, black lace and ribbon roses are now retired.)   The empty shadowbox was a gift, so you could search the Internet to find them.

These three sweeties are my grandgirls.  The tradition we have in our family is when they are between 12-15 months old, we take photographs of them playing with family heirlooms and antiques.  The whole idea is to take candid photographs of the grandgirls' natural curiosity.

Here are the individual 4" x 6" sections with a close up of some of the details.

I love this project.  It brings tears to my eyes when I look at it and the sweet memories flood back into my mind.  I can't wait to show it to the grandgirls.  They are now 7 1/2, 4 and 19 months.

To order the products used to make this project, please contact me.
