Season by Season Download Kit

I have a confession to make: I was so excited about the Lauren’s Letters Alphabet & Numbers Punch download this week, that I pretty much ignored everything else. I can’t help it—I’m a sucker for alphabet punches! But once I went back and looked at the rest of the downloads, I realized that I overlooked a major gem, the Season by Season Kit!

The Season by Season Kit is one of those great downloads that work for so many different purposes—winter, spring, summer or fall! This download has Designer Series Papers and embellishments for any time of the year, and it’s one of those versatile downloads that you are going to love to design with. Plus, it has flip-flops. Love!

I love the layout of the 12" x 12" designer template page, and used that to scrapbook a picture of my niece in her Easter dress.

It was so easy to use the included Designer Series Papers and embellishments to change this from a summer page to something more spring-themed. (The Easter stamp is from Well Scripted, but it looked so great with the swirly stamps in the Season by Season kit that I just couldn’t resist using it.) I love the way it turned out, and it was finished in a matter of minutes! What plans do you have for using the Season by Season Kit in your designs?

It's a bit ironic that I'm posting this scrapbook page today while my hubby has the two youngest grandgirls at the same park shown on this page. Other than wearing different clothes, I'm sure they are having a blast playing together.

This was a simple scrapbook page to make. I started with the "Night & Day" 12"x12" download that I purchased from my 24/7 store (yes, I do buy from myself). Good thing downloads don't wear out because I use this download as a starting point for a lot of my scrapbook pages.

I used the colors in the photographs for choosing my colors on the scrapbook page. One of the simplest things I did to change this download to what I wanted was to change the background color to Lovely Lilac. You may be thinking, "Lovely Lilac? That's a retired color." Did you know retired colors are available in My Digital Studio? Isn't that an awesome feature?

Retreat Scrapbook Page

Here is another page from the stamping and scrapbooking retreat I attended in April. I saw a similar layout and decided to copy it using 118108 My Digital Studio software. This layout allows me to get eight photographs on this page, but there is some separation of the photographs by their placement and putting frames around them.

My favorite photograph is the bottom center one of the crosses. My thanks to Autumn for telling me to take this photograph. She has been at this retreat center before and knew where to stand to get both crosses and the lake in one photo.

Orange Poppies Scrapbook Page

Flower gardening is another passion of mine besides papercrafting. I like to take pictures of my favorite flowers and then scrapbook them using 118108 My Digital Studio software. On this page, I wanted to show the different stages of the orange poppies at our cabin. We have an entire flower bed filled with them, which is stunning when they are all blooming. On Saturday, only one flower was in bloom, one was ready to bloom and the rest were just taking their time to bloom.

A feature of My Digital Studio that I used on this page, is I "filled" the tag punch with Designer Series Paper. I double-clicked on the tag punch and was able to move the Designer Series paper to the portion that I wanted to show in my tag punch. So cool!!!

I (heart) U Scrapbook Page

I saw this layout on Pinterest last night and had to copy it. This is a layout that I can see myself using over and over again, by changing the colors and the photograph. This is my sister, Jan, who taught me how to rubber stamp about 20 years ago. Who knew how that teddy bear stamp, glossy white cardstock, black ink pad and markers would change my life. She lives in San Diego, California. And this is my brother, Pete, who owns Great Harvest Bakery in Great Falls, Montana. Any time you are in Great Falls, stop by the Bakery and tell him you know me.

An awesome feature in the 118108 My Digital Studio software, is how quickly I can change the color of these letters. I click one letter, then hold the "Ctrl" key and click the other letters I want the same color. Then I select which color I want. Super fast, which is what I like when scrapbooking.

I bet Jan and Pete don't even know they were wearing Rich Razzleberry and Always Artichoke Stampin' Up! colors. I love how easy it was to match the colors on the scrapbook page with the colors they were wearing.

Retreat Scrapbook Page

The majority of my scrapbooking is my grandgirls, holidays and family events. To prove that I do have a life outside of my family, (tee hee) I decided to start working on my pages from a weekend retreat I went on with one of my downline, Autumn.

The first page I've done is the packing and the drive to the retreat center. I love taking short road trips with friends because it is an adventure before the weekend adventure! Here is page one of our adventure. I like doing chronological scrapbooking for these types of pictures. More pages will be coming as I create them, so stay tuned.

Custom Scrapbook Page Backgrounds

There are two new things I did with this scrapbook page made with the 118108 My Digital Studio software. The first thing I wanted to do was to make a patchwork background. I copied the scallop square punch nine times and filled the punches with different designer series paper. Viola! I have made my own unique patchwork background.

Then, I wanted to use a piece of notebook paper on this page. Simple when you're doing traditional scrapbooking, but a bit more challenging when Stampin' Up! doesn't have a digital download for one (or maybe that is the only download I haven't bought yet–LOL). So I tore out a piece of notebook paper, scanned it and saved it as a photograph on my computer. I created a large photo box (the big white square) and dragged my notebook paper photo on to the large photo box and it automatically sized itself. Yee haw!!! I created my own custom notebook paper background.

What unique backgrounds have you made for your traditional or digital scrapbook pages? I'd love to hear your ideas!!!

Pretty Sweet Scrapbook Page

I have found when designing (which means copying) scrapbook pages with 118108 My Digital Studio software, what I start out with, isn't what I end up with. See the large doily punch? That wasn't in my original sample. I accidentally deleted a layer of designer series paper and was too lazy (or tired) to add it back in. The doily punch was easier to add, so this is what I ended up with.

This layout is proof that I can scrapbook with one photo on a page. I'm known to cram as many photo's on a page as possible. But I had this one photo of Amber that didn't go with any other photo's. So it had to be put on its own page.

Love & Joy of Music Scrapbook Page

In the toy box at my house, there is a xylophone, an electronic keyboard and a tiny hand-held keyboard. The grandgirls have all played with these. But their favorite keyboard is the real piano. My hubby is the pianist in the family. The songs he plays now are nursery rhymes and Christmas carols. He is beginning to teach the grandgirls how to play simple songs. This scrapbook page shows how Dan holds Ashley's fingers while he plays and Amber is playing her part of the duet. So sweet.

This scrapbook page was made with 118108 My Digital Studio software. A feature that I love about this software is any punch can be made to any size. I stretched the doily punch to almost 11"x11".
