Making Chore Charts with My Digital Studio Software

Published by under Miscellanous,My Digital Studio

Today's blog post is brought to you by Lindsey Hortin, from the Stampin’ Up! Communications Department.

My daughter recently asked me for a chore chart. I know, what child asks for a chore chart? It made me smile. I thought I better seize the moment before it is too late! For this project, I chose the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper because I love the color scheme. (Hopefully the bright colors will help motivate my kids.)

Then, I used the new Bunch of Backgrounds Stamp Brush Set. I love background stamps—the images are so versatile! I layered the Weathered image in Whisper White over the check boxes for some added texture. For the background, I used the Chicken Wire image in Whisper White on Jenna’s chart and the Flannel Plaid image in Lucky Limeade on Connor’s chart.

The next step is to frame the charts and use a dry-erase marker to check off items each day. (Fingers crossed that this will work!) Creating a chore chart is not a chore when you’re using My Digital Studio!

One great thing about My Digital Studio is that sometimes we get to bring back retired images! Bunch of Backgrounds features the following retired (or soon to-be-retired) background stamp images:

  • Chicken Wire
  • Ephemera
  • Flannel Plaid
  • French Flair
  • Pretty Pattern
  • Riot of Petals
  • Sanded
  • Weathered
  • Well Worn Words
  • Wonderfully Worn

And here’s a quick tip before I go. A handy tool for a project like this is “Align Objects”. Select the items you want to align by holding the shift key (or the Apple key on a Mac) and clicking on the objects. Then, go to the top menu and select, “Left, Center, or Right”. I also evenly spaced the “chores” vertically using the same drop down menu. So easy!

Keep This Memory Photobook Template

Published by under My Digital Studio,Scrapbooking

Today's blog post is from the Stampin’ Up! My Digital Studio Team.

Our Keep This Memory Photobook Template comes with 26 beautifully designed 12" x 12" pages, a six-piece stamp brush set, eight Designer Series Papers, 25 embellishments, and a punch. We love the look of this template—earthy, trendy, eclectic, and a splash of exotic.

Take a look at the template and the template’s namesake.

And here, get a closer look at the richness of the included artwork. These pages show some slightly alternative design ideas.

Just like the last page above implies, we think this is just the photobook to capture moments from your lovely life. Enjoy!

Seriously Awesome Decorated Candy Bars

Published by under Gift Item,My Digital Studio

Today's post is from Charlet Mallett, Stampin’ Up! Product Manager.  This is a great project to show you how to blend My Digital Studio products with Traditional products found in the catalog.

There are so many people in my life that I appreciate. It's great to be surrounded by awesome people but sometimes it's hard for me to let them know how fantastic I think they are. There are a few folks I work extremely close with on a daily basis that need to know I think they rock. The Seriously Awesome Stamp Brush Set proved to be perfect for the task.

I like how the sentiments in this set can be used to affirm how cool I am and how cool I think others are. I also like that it feels handwritten but is more polished than my handwriting. I stepped up my My Digital Studio tag design by adding some dimension with traditional products. I think it turned out pretty cute and I hope these special people know how much I appreciate them.

Here are the beautifully decorated candy bars:

My Digital Studio Products:

  • Seriously Awesome Brush Set
  • Tasteful Trim Shape 3 (to create the chevron pattern)
  • Half Circle Punch
  • Sweet Little One Swatchbook Template Punches
  • You are my Sunshine Designer Series Paper

Traditional Products:

  • Rosette and Circle Big Shot Dies
  • Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray Card Stock
  • Basic Gray 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon

Season by Season Download Kit

Published by under My Digital Studio,Scrapbooking

NOTE:  I'm busy making card swaps using stamp sets from the new catalog.  I will be posting a lot of My Digital Studio projects for a bit.  Hang on my card-loving friends.  I will be back posting some card beauties soon!

Today's post is brought to you by Holly Linford, from Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Training.

I have a confession to make: I was so excited about the Lauren’s Letters Alphabet & Numbers Punch download this week, that I pretty much ignored everything else. I can’t help it—I’m a sucker for alphabet punches! But once I went back and looked at the rest of the downloads, I realized that I overlooked a major gem, the Season by Season Kit!

The Season by Season Kit is one of those great downloads that work for so many different purposes—winter, spring, summer or fall! This download has Designer Series Papers and embellishments for any time of the year, and it’s one of those versatile downloads that you are going to love to design with. Plus, it has flip-flops. Love!

Here is a closer look at this kit:

I love the layout of the 12" x 12" designer template page, and used that to scrapbook a picture of my niece in her Easter dress.

It was so easy to use the included Designer Series Papers and embellishments to change this from a summer page to something more spring-themed. (The Easter stamp is from Well Scripted, but it looked so great with the swirly stamps in the Season by Season kit that I just couldn’t resist using it.) I love the way it turned out, and it was finished in a matter of minutes! What plans do you have for using the Season by Season Kit in your designs?

1-2-3 Whee Scrapbook Page

Published by under My Digital Studio,Scrapbooking

It's a bit ironic that I'm posting this scrapbook page today while my hubby has the two youngest grandgirls at the same park shown on this page.  Other than wearing different clothes, I'm sure they are having a blast playing together.

This was a simple scrapbook page to make.  I started with the "Night & Day" 12"x12" download that I purchased from my 24/7 store (yes, I do buy from myself).  Good thing downloads don't wear out because I use this download as a starting point for a lot of my scrapbook pages.

(Night & Day Download)

I used the colors in the photographs for choosing my colors on the scrapbook page.  One of the simplest things I did to change this download to what I wanted was to change the background color to Lovely Lilac.  You may be thinking, "Lovely Lilac?  That's a retired color."  Did you know retired colors are available in My Digital Studio?  Isn't that an awesome feature?

If you are thinking about trying out My Digital Studio software, but are hesitant, let's chat.
