Sandy’s Open House Projects

My downline, Sandy, gave me the projects from her recent Open House. I love presents from my downline! Thanks Sandy!

This card features the 111598 Bella Toile background stamp, which is punched out with the 119848 Butterfly XL Punch and the 117166 Newsprint Designer Series Paper.

This card features the 117167 Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper, 118750 Friends Never Fade Stamp Set, the Flower Layers Die (retired) and the 117335 Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I love the bright colors!

This card features the Level 1 Hostess stamp set Because I Care and the 119851 Curly Label Punch. Such a serene card!

This is so pretty in person. It features the 115967 Bitty Box & Envelope die, the 114507 Beautiful Butterflies die, stamped with 118611 Elements of Style stamp set. My two oldest grandgirls sure enjoyed the chocolate candy that was inside!

Presents! Who doesn't love presents? I certainly do. My downline, Cyndi, made all of these projects for me! I love antiques and vintage items, so these are "so me"! The 118611 Elements of Style stamp set was featured in these three cards, bookmark and gift box.

Have a Seat Card

Today is the first day of the Stampin' Up! Convention. Obviously, I've pre-posted this entry. Here is my original (not copied) swap card. Everyone who knows me realizes that I copy about 90% of what I make. And you all know when I come up with my own design, you will hear about it! LOL

Have a Seat stamp set, Define your Life stamp set, Very Vanilla cardstock, Night of Navy cardstock, Cherry Cobbler cardstock, Daffodil Delight cardstock, Night of Navy Ink Pad, Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Scallop Circle #2 Die, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Small Heart Punch and Very Vanilla 5/8" Satin ribbon.

When I saw this stamp set in the new catalog, iI had to buy it. It reminds me of the Early American furniture that was in the house I grew up in.

Luggage Tag

I'm getting ready to pack for the Stampin' Up! convention. And I'm so happy that I found my new luggage tag that my downline, Denise W., made for me. She covered chipboard in leftover designer series paper and then used the 13469 Scallop Circle #2 Die to cut it out. Next, she layered Soft Suede textured cardstock and then added the "s". She used the 108362 Crop-A-Dile to punch the hole and set the 108432 Jumbo Pewter Eyelet. She added a hinge ring from a craft store. There will be no mix-up of luggage on this trip! Thanks Denise!

Incentive Stamp Camp

On June 29, my manager, Terri, had a Stamp Camp for her top demonstrators in sales and recruiting. I loved being able to attend this because Terri has such awesome projects.

We made this lined envelope with two matching cards using the 118611 Elements of Style stamp set.

Then we made this hair pretty using the Big Shot 118871 Island Floral Bigz die out of polar fleece.

We made this fabulous album out of the 118766 Briefcase On Board Books, envelopes and 117173 Island Oasis Designer Series Paper.

The last project was made with the 118766 Briefcase On Board Books and 111546 Simple Birthday Thanks stamp.

Note: We scored vellum cardstock and attached with a gluestick to give the frosty look.

Strawberry Shortcake Thank You Card

My grandgirl, Amber, turned three on May 28. She wanted a Strawberry Shortcake party. My daughter created this adorable thank you card for everyone who was at Amber's party. She cut the strawberry and leaves freehand. They were then put through the Sizzix Big Shot embossing folders. The strawberry in the Perfect Polka Dots and the leaves through the Finial Press. She did the words on the computer.

My daughter used "My Digital Studio" to make this cute picture of Amber that she put inside the card.

It's as adorable as Amber!

Birthday Block Cards

It is nice to be able to order one stamp instead of a set. In the Summer Mini Catalog, the Birthday Block stamp is a single stamp, but can be used in many different ways. Here are two examples:

I made this card for a shoebox swap. I used the Sizzix Big Shot Table Setting die cut for the candle and flame images.

This card's base is the Sizzix Big Shot Scallop Square die cut. Sponge daubers were dipped in the ink pad to make the circles. I made this card at my downline, Denise W's, event.

Smooch Spritz Gone Wild

I needed a spring theme decoration for my front door. I decided to make one. I pulled out my Sizzix Big Shot and used the Top Note die on some leftover cardboard covered with Whisper White cardstock. I found some retired On Board chipboard letters that I covered in Designer Series Paper and adhered to the cardboard Top Notes. I attached the cardboard Top Notes to the Bashful Blue 1" double-stitched grosgrain ribbon with silver brads. I attached the ribbon to a silver piece of hodge podge hardware. It was a sweet looking project.

Then I noticed my recent box from Stampin' Up! with the new Summer Mini Catalog items in it. Oh-la-la! I could use the Smooch Spritz to shabby up my spring door hanger! Please learn from my mistake, okay? Use the Smooch Spritz sparingly!!!!!! And hold it about ten inches away from your project. Why?

Because I held it too close to my project and I used too dark of a Smooch Spritz color for my project.

Here is a close up of my too shabby chic project. UGH! I worked so hard on this project. I still hung it on my door. Now you know that I screw up projects. But more important than that, you now know to use the right color of Smooch Spritz and to use it lightly!!!! Or else, it goes W-I-L-D!

Stamp Share for Leaders Events

My upline, Terri, called to let me know that I was invited to attend a dinner on May 15 at the Mall of America with Linda Hanson. Linda Hanson used to work in the Training Department at Stampin' Up! in Salt Lake City. Linda has been traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada speaking at different demonstrators downline meetings. I was thrilled and honored that I was able to attend this dinner. My demonstrator friends reading this may be thinking "why did Sue get asked and not me?" Terri asked people who got up on stage and presented at her previous Stamp Share for Leaders meetings. Yippee!

Here is a picture of some of the people at the dinner. From the bottom left: Linda Hanson, Dawn, Stacy, Carol, me, my second upline Cherie, my direct upline, Terri.

Terri made everyone these adorable name tags using the Sizzix 113463 Top Note Die and the new 118871 Island Floral Bigz Die.

Terri invited Linda to come and speak at her Stamp Share for Leaders meeting on May 16. It was great to get an update on Linda's life since she's left Stampin' Up! Linda is still a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, so she had plenty of creative projects to share with us.

Here are some fun stamping ideas from this weekend.

The 117178 Island Oasis Party Favor Boxes are so much fun to decorate. They come with the box and the belly band. You get 12 boxes and 12 belly bands for $5.95. They are about 2" x 2" in size.

Yes, do not faint! I made this project and completed it. Usually, I get frustrated at more complicated projects and say "I'll finish it at home", but I never do. This is featuring the 117173 Island Oasis Designer Series Paper. My manager, Terri, came up with this design.

This is a make & take mini scrapbook project using 4 envelopes and 117173 Island Oasis Designer Series Paper. This is the outside view.

This is what the inside pages look like. Thanks to my downline, Denise W., who attended this meeting with me and helped me with my mistakes on this project. My manager, Terri designed this scrapbook project. She's awesome!

This amazingly ,creative mini brag book was made and designed by my downline, Sandy M. I love the sponging on the embossed Sizzix Top Note and all her added embellishments. This brag book is held closed with a ribbon.

This 6"x6" scrapbook page was designed and made by my downline, Amy. She used the 120075 Sentimental Journey stamp set. I love the fringed beach towel made out of ribbon.

This 6"x6" scrapbook page was made and designed by a stamping sister, Pam H. She used the 120081 Tropical Party stamp set. Do you see her clever idea of using a grass skirt?

Pam H. also made this flower out of felt using the 118871 Sizzix Island Floral Bigz Die.

Pam is a quilter, hence her neat rows of stitching.

This was such a fun-filled weekend of stamping! It was almost like a mini Stampin' Up! convention!
