My new catalog order arrived earlier in the week. Can you say Christmas morning? Oh yeah! It was time to get crafty. The first thing I wanted to do was use the new style of ink pads. The new color I used was Gumball Green. What a fun name!
Since I was stamping a collage style card, a simple tip you can do with your clear mount stamps is to put as many of them on an acrylic block as you can fit. This saves you time in stamping and mounting/remounting your stamps on an acrylic block. You know I like fast stamping!
I got a little too excited using the Gumball Green ink pad and pushed the stamp too hard into it. Oops! Overinked to the max! I knew that I should have used a light hand, but didn't realize how light. My advice to you is to experiment on scratch paper the first time you use a new style ink pad. They are very "inky" and your stamps will look like this if you're not careful.
Here is my finished card. I was heavy-handed in inking the medallions and smeared some images. I tried to hide those under the ribbon. Sneaky little tip you may want to try too.
The One in a Million stamp set is rising to the top of my favorite list. It has words for the outside of a card, as well as for the inside. This one says "You mean SO much to SO many people." The inside words are "(One of them is me.)" Anyone receiving a card with those words would definitely have a brighter day!
