Valentine/Love/Wedding Card Buffet

Published by under Stamping,Valentine's Day

Here are the three of the people who attended my recent Card Buffet.  They provide me with a lot of entertainment.  They like to create their own cards with whatever supplies they get.  Here they are with their creations.

This is Lu, a/k/a  Lulu.  She only made one card because I was training her on My Digital Studio.

Here's Deb W., a/k/a Deb Dub, who is very creative!  I don't think she's ever copied my card samples.  She's an "out of the box" stamper.

This is Deb B., a/k/a Debbie, who used to follow my card samples.  She's off doing her own thing now.  Lulu and Deb Dub are influencing her.  LOL

If you want to know about my upcoming classes,  please contact me and I'll add you to my email newsletter list.

Be My Valentine

Published by under Big Shot,Stamping,Valentine's Day

The last night of Leadership, six of us from Minnesota got together to share our swaps with each other.  This card is a favorite of mine.  It uses the single stamp on the last page of the Occasions Mini Catalog, 122045 Be My Valentine.  I love the colors black and white with another color.

Valentine Defined

Published by under Stamping,Valentine's Day

This was a fun card to make for a recent shoebox swap.  I wanted to use new products from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  This card uses the 121941 Valentine Defined stamp set, the 121809 Framed Tulips embossing folder and the 122125 3" Circle Sizzix Originals Die.

The colors are Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake.  I put the Very Vanilla Cardstock in the 117335 Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder first.  Then I put it in the center of the 121809 Framed Tulips embossing folder to just get the two edges embossed.  The polka dots are a little smashed, but I like how it looks.

January 13, 1978 was a cold, wintery day.  The headline news was Hubert H. Humphrey died.  My headline news was the birth of our beautiful baby girl, Melanie Susan.  Becoming a parent was a dream I had wanted for years.  She is a wonderful daughter and friend.  Happy 33rd B-day Mel!

Valentine’s Day 2009

Published by under Decorating,Stamping,Valentine's Day

I needed to make a Valentine’s Day gift, but didn’t have a frame in my stash.  Here’ s the front of the canvas frame I had tucked away.

Here’s the back of the canvas, which is about 5" x 7".  Very easy to paint it black with craft paint.  I wanted to surprise my daughter and son-in-law with a personal gift for Valentine’s Day from their girls.

I covered each of the grand girl’s foot with VersaMark ink and had them step down on Ruby Red cardstock.  I embossed their footprint with silver embossing powder.

Here are the words which I printed on the computer.  I added a couple of silver hearts.  I put ModgePodge on the back side of the cardstock and centered it on the black canvas frame.  Pressed out as many air bubbles that I could.  Then I covered the entire project with one coat of ModgePodge and let it dry overnight.  It turned out quite nicely!

Dan and I had the grand girls overnight on February 13.  We took them swimming at the YMCA after supper.  We had a blast!  When they woke up on Valentine’s Day, I had gotten up early and made a heart-shaped breakfast for them.

This was so much fun to do for them.  They both squeeled with delight.

Amber went for the pancake first!

Brianna went for the toast and jelly first.

After breakfast, we read some books.  Looking at this picture, I cannot believe they are 5 years old and 20 months old.  Weren’t they just babies?
