Happy Valentine’s Day

Published by under Valentine's Day

While at Leadership, my friends and I pass our swaps to each other.  When this one was passed to me, I burst out laughing and had to take a picture!  For such a simple card, it took these three stamp sets to make it:

120861 S.W.A.K. individual stamp

120308 Word Play stamp set

115060 Short & Sweet stamp set

I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die

Published by under Valentine's Day

I love hearts!  Probably because Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday of the year.  So it isn't any surprise that the 125596 Fashionable Hearts Embosslits Die in the Occasion Mini Catalog is one of my favorite new products.  I just love how you get five different size hearts with five different textures. No one will be bored with that Embosslits Die!

Also used for this card is the 113462 Scallop Envelope Bigz Die, the119883 Full Heart Punch and the 124005 Silver Glimmer Paper.

Children’s Valentine Idea

Published by under Valentine's Day

Have you been sucked into Pinterest yet?  It is an electronic bulletin board, where you "pin" ideas.  I said I wasn't going to join, but I was weak and broke down one night.  If you do decide to join, I'm warning you that you'll need to set a timer, as it can be addictive.

I found this idea on Pinterest.  The example they showed was using two different colors of paint on a child's hand.  No way, did I want that mess.  So I inked up my 102283 VersaMark Pad.  Then I grabbed my 109129 Gold and 109131 Silver Embossing Powders and my 100005 Heat Tool.  I tried to get Ashley, the two year old grandgirl, to do this project.  There was NO way she was coming near me.  So Amber, the four year old, was my "go to" girl.  Inking up a child's hand with VersaMark is so slick.  It is invisible and easy to wash off with soap and warm water.  I inked up her first hand and poured the Silver Embossing Powder and heated it until it was set.  Then I inked up her other hand and poured the Gold Embossing Powder and heated it.

After it cooled, I had Amber write her name.  I copied some of the wording from the example on Pinterest.  In hindsight, I would have written down whatever Amber told me and not copied the wording.  I'm not sure how well you can read this, but here's what it says:  Miss Amber loves Mom and Dad with all her heart. (I copied that).  "You are the best Mom and Dad ever."  "I really love you so much."

Wish me luck because tomorrow is my last chance to make this project with little Miss Two year old!
