Identical Scrapbook Layouts

Published by under My Digital Studio,Scrapbooking

I'm seriously thinking that I won't ever do much more traditional scrapbooking.  GASP!!!  The only way I can get my scrapbooking caught up is by using 118108 My Digital Studio.  Here's one reason why I love this software program so much!

One Layout – Three Different Scrapbook Pages

This layout is something I have wanted to do for a while.  I wanted to take the same photograph and show it three times in color and black & white.  I was able to snap a photo of our two-year-old grandgirl with her pigtails flying behind her.  (Thank you "sport mode" on my camera.)  I really liked how this layout turned out. (Click the layouts to see them larger.)

I copied the same page as above and changed the background paper to match Dan's shirt (a couple of clicks).  Then I double-clicked the scallop square image and "filled" it with a photo instead of Designer Series Paper.  VIOLA!!!  I have a scallop square photo now.  Sweet!  Don't ask me why I snapped a photo from the back when Dan was reading to Ashley, but I did.  I'm happy I went with my instinct.  I added the front photo on top of the big scallop photo to cover the blurry book.  I wanted to do more, but decided to just stop and leave it as it was.  (Actually, I heard my daughter's voice saying, "Mom, you don't know when to stop.")

I almost missed the sunset at the cabin on Saturday night, but managed to capture part of it.  I changed the background paper to match the sunset and changed the large square scallop photo from Dan to the sunset.  SO easy!  And, SO rewarding that I have three pages done with the same basic layout, but they really don't look that much alike.  This is why I love digital scrapbooking.  It is fast.  It is easy!

Scrapbook Pages with Six Photo’s

Published by under My Digital Studio,Scrapbooking

I rarely make a scrapbook page with one photo on it.  It is impractical in my world and too time consuming to do that.  I am one of "those" people who scrapbook almost every photo I take.  In my mind, why take the photo if it isn't to be saved in a scrapbook.  That being said, there is a My Digital Studio download #126056 Downtown Grunge, which is a favorite of mine.  I like the neutral colors and the multiple places to add photographs.  I used it for this project.

Our home away from home is our cabin.  Last summer, Dan worked hard on repainting the trim.  Here are the pages I created showing the real story for the painting project.

[Note:  I grabbed the camera and took these photo's without Dan knowing it.]

These three pages are the same layout.  I just moved the photo boxes around the pages in a different configuration.  The three pages hold a total of 24 pictures.  I love the ease of using My Digital Studio!!!

A Special B-day Present

Published by under Gift Item,Scrapbooking

My daughter knows me very well.  She is so good at making unique and memorable gifts for me; whether it is for my b-day, Mother's Day or Christmas.  Here is what she made me for my b-day.

She traced the three grandgirls' hands on Designer Series Paper and cut them out.  My heart melts when I see the intertwined hands.  Even though the grandgirls are cousins, they love and adore each other like siblings.  My favorite pictures of the three of them are when they are walking together holding hands (sniff, sniff).

On the back side of this, I will write who made it and why.  Sometimes I think that I will remember everything, but I don't.  Later in the week, I am going to have each of the grandgirls write their name on their hand cut-out.  It is so fun to see how children's handwriting changes through the years.  Then I will frame it and keep it on my desk for awhile.  When I'm ready to take it out of the frame, this will be put in a scrapbook.
