Scrapbooking for the Walls

Published by Sue under Big Shot, Decorating, Scrapbooking, Stamping

At our townhouse, we had a huge wall in the master bedroom.  I hung 8 x 10 frames with baby pictures, graduation pictures and wedding pictures of our children and my hubby and I.  At our new house, we don’t have a big enough wall anywhere to put these frames.  So, I took all the photographs out of the frames and made black & white copies of the photographs I wanted to use.  I decided to make six 8"x8" scrapbook pages with these photographs that I will hang in our new master bedroom.  I have an old window frame that was painted white with red crackle paint showing through.  Since, I didn’t want to get rid of this window frame, I decided to paint it black and put my six scrapbook pages in it.

The finished project, which I adore!  The "family" metal sign at the bottom is from a craft store.

Scrapbook Page 1:  This is me.

Scrapbook Page 2:  Our wedding day and 26 years later at our daughter’s wedding.

Scrapbook Page 3:  My handsome hubby.

Scrapbook Page 4:  Our sweet son.

Scrapbook Page 5:  Our children’s weddings.

Scrapbook Page 6:  Our darling daughter.

Do you want to see how I adhered the scrapbook pages behind the glass panes?

Pop-Up Glue Dots worked very well!

Turn Greeting Cards Into Scrapbook Pages

Published by Sue under Scrapbooking, Stamping

At my February downline meeting, I challenged everyone  to use some of the greeting cards, from my recent Card Buffet, and turn them into scrapbook pages.  As demonstrators, we tend to tell our customers that a scrapbook page is really just a big greeting card.  Here are the scrapbook pages some of them created.

Featuring:  114982 Holiday Blitz Stamp Set and 118386 Whimsical Words SAB Stamp Set

Featuring:  117690 Vintage Vogue Stamp Set

Featuring:  113252 Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set

Featuring:  118134 With All My Heart Stamp Set

With this greeting card, the layout was copied, but a different stamp set was used and different colored cardstock.

Featuring:  118378 Good Neighbors SAB Stamp Set

Featuring:  115764 C is for Cat Stamp Set

I’m proud of them for doing something that was challenging and out of some of their comfort zones!

Halloween Scrapbook

Published by Sue under Halloween, Scrapbooking

One of my downline, Sandy, surprised me with this Halloween Scrapbook.

I love the Night & Day Specialty Designer Series Paper (retires 1-4-10) and the Twick or Tweet stamp set.  I can’t wait to fill this with pictures of the grand girls!

Scrapbook Convention

Published by Sue under Scrapbooking

In late October, I attended a scrapbook convention with three of my downline.  It was wierd to be attending something other than a Stampin’ Up! convention.  We all got a few new ideas to use in our upcoming classes.  But we all agreed that there wasn’t the comraderie or excitement that is always at Stampin’ Up! events!

October Scrapbook Club

Published by Sue under Holidays, Scrapbooking

The first theme for October’s scrapbook club was birthday pages made in primary colors.  The Big Shot "Alphabet Simple Letters" has become my favorite alphabet die cut.

The Big Shot "Big Bold Cupcake" sizzlits die cuts were very fun to use.  Crimped the bottom of the cupcake and added brads to the top.

I’ve been wanting to try the Big Shot "Lattice" die for a while.  Glue dots work the best to make them stick to cardstock.

The second theme was Christmas featuring Merry Moments designer series paper, Old Olive, Real Red and Very Vanilla cardstock.

Embossed words in Iridescent Ice embossing powder and punched with the ornament punch.  Added silver cording on the back held with a brad.

This page features the styled vanilla hodgepodge hardware kit with retired real red striped grosgrain ribbon.

Again, the embossing was done with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.
