Christmas Candle

Here is a beautiful gift that I received from my downline, Kathleen. She stamped the images from the 123768 Pines & Poinsettias Stamp Set on tissue paper and trimmed with a scissor close to the edge of the images. She laid them one at a time on the candle and used her heat tool to slightly melt the wax, which covers the tissue paper image. Isn't it striking? Thanks Kathleen!

Placemat Purses

I forgot to post the pictures I took at my September 25 downline meeting. Once we all finished our shoebox swaps, it was time to sew! There's a first time for anything and it was the first time we sewed at my meeting. Some of my downline wanted to make the placemat purse that my manager, Terri, made as gifts for Convention attendees. You take a cloth placemat, fold it in half, sew the two side seams and then sew two more bottom seams. Add some ribbon handles and you have a purse. I know this probably makes no sense to you, but the photographs will help you.

Even though some of my downline had never used a sewing machine before, they jumped in and sewed the four seams to make their purses. It was another fun Stampin' (and sewing) DIVA Day!

Sizzix Big Shot Fabric Pins

I've been busy this weekend up at our cabin. I made 40 fabric pins using the 113439 Sizzix Big Shot. They are for my friend, Bobbi, who is in my networking group. She is taking them to the Tastefully Simple Conference this week. They are team member gifts. They can wear them on their clothing or on their lanyards.

It rained quite a bit at the cabin, so it was fun to have a project to do. I also got about ten scrapbook pages done too. I love traditional scrapbooking at the cabin. Very few interruptions, so I can really focus. I have made good progress on our oldest grandgirl's scrapbook. The funny thing is when I get home from the cabin, I download my photographs to my computer and then digitally scrapbook them using My Digital Studio. The best of both worlds for me!

Shadow Box

Here is a 12" x 12" shadow box created by a demonstrator who submitted it for the annual Stampin' Up! Artisan Award. She didn't win the award. That didn't matter to me because I found it to be beautiful.

Do you want to know how she made it? On My Digital Studio, the digital software! Yowza! She had four copies printed and then cut up three of the copies to add the three layers of dimensions to it.

My fingers are just itching to create one of these! I think I need a creative assistant to make all my projects because my brain doesn't want to turn off or empty these ideas out of it. LOL

Quilted Art for the Walls

This framed quilt piece caught my eye hanging on one of the Convention displays. No surprise, since I love quilts, flowers and the shabby chic look. They used the 121817 Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric to make this and added some buttons, ribbons and fabric flowers. What I'm amazed at is they took the word "happiness" from the 111644 Heard from the Heart stamp set, enlarged it and embroidered it on the fabric. This would make such a unique piece of art for your walls or a beautiful gift to give someone!

My Mother’s Day Gift

Today's projects are from this last Mother's Day. My daughter made this card for me. It is made with Grosgrain Ribbon with some glue dots and a brad. She's quite clever, isn't she?

Then she gave me a bouquet of fresh flowers in this vase. My first thoughts were "nice flowers and what a cute vase".

Melanie knows her mom quite well. Handmade, personalized, unique are favorites of mine (no surprise I love Stampin' Up!). Look closely at this last picture. My two oldest grandgirls made these flowers on the vase with washable enamel paint using their fingertips. Then they used their fingertips to draw the stems and petals. [Cue the tears.] How ding, dang adorable! What a keepsake for me!
