Perfectly Penned

Published by under Stamping

Shabby chic, distressed, worn and antiqued are styles I love to decorate with, but I rarely stamp using these styles.  I must hesitate because not everyone likes the messy look in their cards.  Here are a couple of samples from Convention using the 122890 Perfectly Penned Stamp Set.

Best Friends Forever

Published by under Stamping

One of the free stamp sets from Convention that I got was 122805 Best Friends Forever (BFF).  It is found in the "Growing Up" section of the catalog.  The stamp set is geared for teenage girls, but females of all ages have been creating some awesome projects with it.

This card was on display at Convention.  You know I love black, white and a splash of color, this time it is red.  The 117157 Neutrals Collection Paper Stack Designer Series Paper was used on this card.  But what caught my eye was they braided 109027 Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.  I have never done that before.  What a great accent for a card or scrapbook page!

Button Buddies

The 122735 Button Buddies stamp set is so cute!  The fun twist to this stamp set is each image can have a button(s) added to it.  Here are the samples from Convention.  Super simple cards.

Buttons & Accessories

Published by under Miscellanous

Buttons and accessories are a marriage of products that work well together.  Time to pull out your brads, punches, clips, pearls, rhinestones, fleurettes, clothespins, pearls, spinners, etc. and attach them to your buttons.  The combinations are endless!  Glue Dots and Crystal Effects are the best adhesives to use.

The Sisterhood of Demonstrators

Published by under Recruiting

In less than two weeks, I will be starting my 14th year as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  If anyone would have shown me a crystal ball that day so I could see how my future would change, I probably wouldn't have believed what I saw.  I only signed up because I was teaching art classes at a local coffee shop and they kept asking me where I got all my stamping supplies.  At that time, I didn't know anything about direct sales or anything about Stampin' Up!  As most of you know, I detest pushy sales people and run screaming in the opposite direction of them.  So being in sales of any kind was not my cup of tea nor in my comfort zone at all.  But I did cave to the slight pressure they were giving me and signed up.

Immediately, I became a member of my recruiter, Terri's, team.  She held meetings for her team and I went.  Little by little, I became friends with different demonstrators; which isn't hard to do when you have a common bond of stamping and scrapbooking.  And then one night, I was at a women's group and was wearing a t-shirt that I had stamped hearts on it.  A woman came up to me and said "I have that stamp.  How did you make that shirt?"  We started chatting and pretty soon she told me that she wanted to do what I did.  And so my team of demonstrators began and they too became members of my recruiter's team.  My sisterhood of demonstrators, who have become close friends, continues to grow.

Last Sunday was my team meeting.  I call it my Stampin' DIVA Day and we all look forward to it.  Do you know how fortunate I am to have these incredible women come over to my house to play and share?  We play with rubber stamps and share business and creative ideas with each other.  So to call it a team meeting may sound boring, but it is anything but boring!

L-R Kneeling:  Cyndi, Julianne, Amy, Denise

And, I have to share how the sisterhood continues to grow.  This picture is from our last night at Convention a few weeks ago.  My recruiter, Terri, hosts a pizza party.  In the past, she has held it in her hotel room.  This year, she had to use the atrium of the hotel because the group was so large.  She orders a gigantic (I think 30") pizza.  We all bring our swap cards to share with each other as we eat and visit.

The biggest change in my life in the last 14 years is the sisterhood of demonstrators and the close friendships we have now.  I didn't realize how lonely I was before I became a demonstrator.  And the added bonus for me as a demonstrator is all the fabulous customers who have become such good friends.  I love that!

There are only five days left of the incredible $99 starter kit special.  I would love to have you join the sisterhood of demonstrators and see how your life will change.  You can call or email me for more information.
