Bird of Paradise

Published by under Punches,Stamping

I have to end my last post of 2010 with something unusual.  When I first saw this card, it was from a distance.  My thought was "what a striking card".  As I got closer, I realized that this bird of paradise card was made using the 117191 Two Step Bird XL Punch.  Whoever made this card did a lot of sponging to get the three colors on each "petal".

So Many Thanks

Published by under Stamping

In the front of the Idea Book & Catalog, there are some single stamps.  The 120173 So Many Thanks is a fun stamp to use.  Here are some samples using this square stamp in so many different ways!

I thoroughly enjoy seeing how people think outside of the box and come up with such creative ways to use this stamp!  I believe these samples are from convention.

Oval All Wedding Card

Published by under Stamping,Wedding Invitations

This wedding card is similar to the post I made on December 27 (Stack of Presents).  By using the 119871 Corner Punch on two corners of each rectangle changes them to look like a tiered cake.  This sample used the 113790 Oval All stamp set, the 119858 Boho Blossoms XL Punch (flowers), 119855 Oval Large Punch, 119856 Scallop Oval XL Punch and three different Sizzix embossing folders.

Wouldn't this make a great wedding invitation?  Simple, yet elegant.

Just Believe Card

Published by under Stamping

As most of you know, the stamp set 116948 Just Believe is one of my favorites.  This is such a versatile stamp set.  This card features the circle image in this set.  I love the muted and subtle colors:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery.  This is such serene card!

Stack of Presents Gift Tag, Card or Scrapbook Page

Published by under Stamping

Another simple card today that can be made in three sizes:  (1) small for a gift tag, (2) regular size for a greeting card or (3) large for a scrapbook page.  You can use plain cardstock or Designer Series Paper to make this.  Cut two rectangles freehand and one 119865 1-1/4" Square Large Punch out of coordinating cardstock and adhere them to your cardstock base.  Thread a needle with 100982 Hemp Twine.  Poke a hole at the base and top of the stack of presents bringing the Hemp Twine through the front of the card.  Use the 115370 Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and stamp the words on some scrap cardstock.  In this sample, they freehand cut the tag.  You could also make your tag from the 119857 Word Window Large Punch.  Poke a hole with the needle in the tag and bring the Hemp Twine through it.  Tie the Hemp Twine in a bow to finish your project.
