My daughter and my daughter-in-law didn't find out the sex of their babies before they were born. That is unusual nowadays, but I loved the surprise. Now, back in the olden days, when I was pregnant, it was rare to know the sex of your baby before it was born. At baby showers, you would need to give a generic gift and a generic card. Here are two examples of generic baby cards.

I received this card in a swap from Karen T., another demonstrator. This looks like a runaway baby buggy! She used a technique called "paper piecing". You stamp the image on your final card, but you also stamp the image on a piece of patterned paper. Then you very carefully cut it out and adhere it to the image on your final card.

This card was made by Debbie E., another demonstrator. It is a very elegant card in person.

This is such a cute stamp set. This card was made by my downline, Nancy. It is so sweet. My photo doesn't capture all the little extra touches on it. She watercolored the image. Then she took a white gel pen and colored in the circles on the buggy. She added a pearl on the buggy and two silver brads on the wheels.

Supplies used:
118525 Baby Bundle Stamp Set, Very Vanilla Cardstock, So Saffron Cardstock, Baja Breeze Cardstock, Pretty in Pink Cardstock, Watercolor Paper, Black Staz-on Ink, Chantilly Lace, Modern Label Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch, White Gel Pen, Silver Brads, Basic Pearls, Aqua Painter.

My second level manager, Cherie, sent me this card for being in the Top 20 for Sales in July for her Stampateers group. This was a surprise to me. I love when I get a card with these words from the Smarty Pants stamp set. It just pleases me. Cherie is so clever. She made this card with all five new In-Colors!

Supplies Used:
115070 Smarty Pants stamp set, 120907 Decorative Label XL Punch, 119275 Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, 117335 Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Concord Crush Ink Pad, Poppy Parade Cardstock, Concord Crush Cardstock, Peach Parfait Cardstock, Blushing Bride Cardstock and Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.

Since getting my Sizzix Big Shot, I forget about using my Crimper. It was fun to make this card at the Shoebox Swap. I don't remember which demonstrator designed it. It is so striking. Why? Because you stamp the images first, then crimp the cardstock and then drag a distressing ink pad along the crimps. Is that a word?

Supplies Used:
120845 French Foliage Stamp Set, Kraft Cardstock, Bravo Burgundy Cardstock, Always Artichoke Cardstock, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Crimper, Chantilly Lace, Neutral Designer Buttons, Distressing Essentials-Charcoal ink.
