Tomorrow I have a Shoebox Swap that I’m participating in at my manager’s downline meeting. A Shoebox Swap is where everyone brings all the supplies and pre-cut cardstock to make the sample card. All the cards have to be made in five minutes or less, as we have about 20 different cards to make. This is how I get a lot of my samples.
This card is made with the Love You Much stamp set and Heart to Heart punch, both which will be in the Spring Summer 2009 Catalog. I love the new heart punch because it has 3 different size hearts in one punch which fits with the 3 heart stamp. I used the scallop square punch too. Originally, I was going to make this a Valentine’s Day card, but decided to go outside the box. I used Eggplant Envy and Orchid Opulence cardstock . The happy anniversary stamp is from the Hugs & Wishes stamp set.

I bought five of these lined notebooks a long time ago and stashed them away. They have thick linen-like covers with a silver metal square on the front. While making things for a craft fair in December, I made this one. I couldn’t sell it because it reminded me of my mom’s manual typewriter, which I still have. I remember playing with it when I was little. And some of you may gasp, but I learned to type on a manual typewriter and loved it when electric typewriters were invented!
To alter this notebook, I used Puns from the Past and stamped the typewriter in basic black and the eraser in basic gray. Added the Canvas background in basic gray, stamped off once to get a lighter image. Distressed the edges and sponged in basic black ink. Stamped versamark ink and poured clear embossing powder to seal the images. Adhered with sticky strip and added a library clip. Tied a variety of ribbons on the spiral and viola!

Did you know that you can line up the Scallop Square punch to make a longer punched out frame? My brain didn’t think of it, but I saw a card someone made doing this and thought…"duh". This card was made using my fav sets: Puns from the Past.
